Relationship & Couples Counselling

about

Do you want the support of a professional to help you to make positive changes in your relationships?

I am a clinical counsellor who supports couples and individuals to work through relationship issues and challenges. I am passionate about supporting people in therapy to break free of unhealthy relationship patterns and dynamics, and to achieve positive relationship outcomes.

I have supported many people over the years to develop healthy relationships. I have completed specialised training in a range of approaches that I draw upon depending on the unique needs of each person I work with. Most recently, I completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and am a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). I also have a particular interest in working with sex and intimacy issues and am a member of the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS).

In my sessions with couples, I provide a supportive and non-judgemental environment where you and your partner can discuss the challenges you are experiencing within your relationship, reflect and build upon strengths, and explore opportunities for positive growth and change. I also provide support to individuals wanting to achieve better relationships.

Coming to relationship counselling can be a daunting prospect for many people, however, it can help you to address issues in a respectful way that may be difficult to achieve outside of therapy. For many, the goal of relationship and couples therapy is to strengthen the relationship and develop a deeper connection. For others, it may be to decide whether or not the relationship should continue, or how to end it amicably. Whatever your goals, I will provide a supportive space where you feel heard and can work towards achieving a healthier relationship.

If you are experiencing any of the following issues in your relationship or marriage, counselling can help you to resolve these:

  • Do you have different communication styles that make it difficult to resolve conflict?
  • Do you feel like companions, rather than lovers, and want to reignite the passion you once had?
  • Have you or your partner had an affair?
  • Do you argue, blame and criticise each other?
  • Are you experiencing issues with parenting or adjusting to a blended family?
  • Do you have the same arguments time and time again?
  • Are you craving intimacy or affection?
  • Do you feel that you have lost your identity within the relationship?
  • Do you want to address relationship concerns before you get married?
  • Are you experiencing conflict with ex-partners or family?
  • Are you considering separating or getting a divorce?
  • Do you have disagreements about your finances?
  • Do you feel lonely or unsupported in the relationship?
  • Are you going through stressful life events that are impacting on your relationship?
  • Do you want to develop a deeper connection with your partner but don’t know how to achieve this?
